Improv, Improv Everywhere

While procrastinating writing my paper, I was sent a link to a video by a fellow procrastinator. From there, I spent 45 minutes checking out the various antics of the group Improv Everywhere. It made me a bit homesick, because random stuff like that happens all the time in New York, and it can't help but make the greatest cynic chuckle. I wish I were an actress or had more ovaries so I could do stupid stuff like start singing like I'm in a musical or freeze in the middle of Grand Central. The musical thing was simply a dream of mine brought to fruition. When I was younger I used to sing to myself made up songs all the time, no joke. My mom crushed my dream of becoming a Broadway actress. So now I'm becoming an anthropologist. Woo-hoo.

What's interesting is how for the Grand Central freeze, no one jumped to sci-fi explanations for the freeze. People assumed it was a protest or some acting class, not some alien invasion or time warp. But it is New York after all...I would have thought it was a stunt too. Maybe in the middle of po-dunk Colorado, people stopping in the middle of a square would have been cause for concern. Or maybe I watch to many sci-fi movies.
